Shopify store design.
One designer, the whole store.
I design and rebuild Shopify stores as a freelance designer: the homepage, the product pages, the theme behind them and the search work that keeps your traffic through the change. I am also the creative director of Skin Boutique Online, a Shopify store in Canada.
What I take on
Homepage
One message, one hero, your strongest proof and the shortest way to the products people come for.
What goes on a Shopify homepageProduct and collection pages
What it is, who it is for, how to use it and what goes with it, in the same place on every product.
Theme work
Customising the theme you have, moving to a better one, or a custom theme when nothing else fits.
Customise, switch or rebuildSEO through the change
URL inventory, redirects, titles, sitemap and indexing, checked before and after launch.
How a Shopify redesign worksHow the work runs
We start with one template, usually the homepage or the product page, and release it before touching the next.
You send the store address, the theme name and the three changes you want most. I look at the store on a phone first, because that is where most of your visitors are, and I tell you what I would change and in what order.
You get a written scope with the deliverables, review rounds and timing. Nothing starts before you agree to it. You talk to me the whole way through; there is no account manager in between.
What to prepare before a redesignQuestions I get asked
Do you work with the theme I already have?
Yes, and it is where I start. If the theme is current and lets you edit every page from the editor, new sections and a better homepage usually go further than a new theme.
Can you build a custom theme?
Yes. I recommend it only when no existing theme can carry the brand or the catalogue. A custom theme has no developer updates, so someone has to maintain it afterwards.
Will a redesign hurt my rankings?
It can if URLs change and nobody redirects them. I keep a list of every indexed URL before work starts and check titles, redirects and the sitemap before and after launch.
Do you also write the content?
I write headlines, page structure and search content. Product claims and usage directions stay in wording you have approved.
Can you look after the store after launch?
Yes. Most stores need small changes every month: a launch banner, a new landing page, a product page that needs more room. That can continue as an ongoing partnership.
Skincare and beauty stores
Skincare and beauty are the stores I know best.
Those stores have their own needs: shopping by skin concern, routines shown in order, ingredients and usage in the same place on every product, and claims that stay in approved wording.
